Webinar: The Role of Philanthropy in Community Ownership

At the end of July 2021, we hosted a webinar on The Role of Philanthropy in Community Ownership Webinar with Adriana Abizadeh, the Executive Director of the Kensington Corridor Trust (KCT), Christine Looney from the Ford Foundation, Margot Kane from Spring Point Partners, and Nwamaka Agbo from the Kataly Foundation.

In the conversation, we learned more about KCT, a Philadelphia based community real estate project that the Purpose Foundation has been supporting since 2019. Together with three of KCT’s funders, we explored the opportunities and challenges philanthropy faces in supporting community ownership projects and discussed pathways to mobilizing more support across the field.
