Expanding Steward-Ownership through ‘Assets in Common’
Purpose US & Common Trust have partnered on an extensive research project. Our driving motivation? To uncover the infrastructure needed to scale steward-ownership models, making them accessible and competitive in the face of the dominant extractive economy.
After months of research, we decided to write a book. "Assets in Common'' which reveals pragmatic paths forward for shifting the incentives in the U.S. economy from extraction to reinvestment. By forging collaborative value networks across enterprises, and rethinking how we distribute and govern economic value, we can start building a more resilient economic paradigm.
The good news is the building blocks for this shift already exist - steward-ownership is becoming popular world-wide - now it's about strategically combining and connecting assets into systems that can eventually outcompete the extractive model.
"Assets in Common" is a new book that proposes increasing connectivity between assets lays a path to creating an economy that works for everyone. Through detailed case studies and actionable advice, this book will open your eyes to new possibilities for businesses and communities. In a world that often feels stacked against the little guy, "Assets in Common" provides a much-needed dose of hope and practical solutions for leveling the economic playing field.
You can now access the book "Assets in Common" for free at assetsincommon.org. We invite you to dive in and join us in the movement to build an economy centered on stewardship.
