David Rowe is leveraging collective community ownership through the power of community development, entrepreneurship, and home ownership in the Midwest.
Through the Purpose Futures Fellowship, David Rowe is developing Folks Capital’s Neighborhood Equity model, which allows community members to build an ownership interest in their communities through homeownership, entrepreneurship, and community development through two main programs: microlending and affordable housing.
David brings nearly two decades of public and private sector experience to the Folks Capital team, most recently working as a consultant for a national urban policy consulting firm. His past roles also include serving as a strategy and policy consultant for a national engineering and design firm, as the program manager for implementation of Kansas City, Missouri’s, smart city infrastructure initiative, and as the director of policy in the office of former Kansas City Mayor Sly James. David is a licensed, but inactive, attorney and a certified project management professional (PMP). He holds a law degree from the University of Kansas and a bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University.
